AuSable Valley’s Merry Undine is a solid-boned, well-fleeced, multi-colored female from a multi-colored dam who is out of a multi-colored sire! Merry’s rose grey pinto dam, AdA Starlight, is tall and statuesque with exceptional fleece characteristics. Merry's sire is a stunning white Hemingway-Vengador cross.

Because she was born in the field without assistance during a torrential summer downpour, she was named "Merry Undine," after the water sprites of Teutonic folk lore. As a cria, Merry's fleece was full of tight curls. Her fleece has great handle, very nice crimp and staple length, wonderful density and beautiful luster. Her fleece won a blue ribbon at the AFCNA fleece show in 2006!

Merry's ears were fused at the tips at birth. This is not a health issue but is a genetic trait that was passed on to her cria, thus she is a non-breeder. She is a very curious, sweet alpaca, who loves attention from people, so she is the "greeter" to visitors at our farm, as well as the "nanny" to our crias.
